I had decompression surgery in 2016. My syrinx is gone but nerve pain and numbness is so bad, I'm on so much medication and still in pain. Some days better than others but I am disabled partial paralysis on left side use walking aids and scooter since I was 26. Now 37. With 2 teenagers. Eldest has been diagnosed recently feel so guilty like I've given it to her.
i went through a decompression surgary for chiari which caused my syrinx, and was told if they didnt shrink id have to have surgury to get them drained, but since my decompression they have shrunk to a very small size. ive coped with this condition by knowing that while yes they got so bad i was almost paralized, i was able to find someone to help and give me treatments to reduce them in order to further live a normal life :3
