I get so anxious and overthink about so many situations and decisions in my life. I feel like I have conversations in my mind prior to talking to a person or foresee a situation how it's going to happen before hand. And I get so anxious and have attacks. I am trying to stop my mind from wandering and overthinking. The worst part is allot of times the thoughts and conversations in my mind come to fruition. How do I stop it?

There are "thought stopping techniques" that a therapist might suggest. Googling may give you an idea. But you have to catch it happening and stop the thought process. It's not easy at first. I found learning meditation really helped. The exercise of clearing your mind and letting thoughts pass without grabbing ahold of them, seems to help me let go of a stopped train of thought.

@Phy201 just to add to this because this is good advice, you’re not going to be able to completely stop the thought process, at least not at first. The key is, like Phy201 said, to let the thoughts go without grabbing hold of them and dwelling on them. Speaking from experience, you’re still going to want to overthink, but the more you remind yourself that those thoughts aren’t benefitting you and allow yourself to let them go, the easier it will be. Hopefully your brain will eventually get out of the habit of bringing those thoughts up to begin with, but that’ll take a long time. Remember not to be too hard on yourself!
