I’m newly diagnosed with dyspraxia does anyone have any like tips? Or equipmentthey use that helps them or resources? Literally engraving would be of help
Heya! I've been diagnosed with dyspraxia for over a year and month now and tbh, I'm still trying to figure things out. So far, there are online support groups for people with dyspraxia. If you go to any educational institution like college, school, etc, they have some resources that can help you.
With this new diagnosis, do take your time to navigate yourself and see what areas you struggle in (day-to-day living, working, studying, etc) and see how you can cater things to your advantage. If that makes sense.
For instance, let's go with cooking. I personally struggle with cooking because of the amount of multitasking, coordination and concentration needed to make it. I can make simple recipes like sandwiches and toast pizza. But anything like a simple chicken dish; pffsh. I'm out of there.
There are some cookbooks out there, both online and real life, that work best! Personally, I find a cookbook with visual demonstrations very helpful as it's quite easy to follow. I believe that there are also some frozen veg recipes out there so it'll save you some time! 🙌
Give yourself some time to practice by preparing the ingredients before putting it in anything. So if some ingredients need to be chopped, or you need a certain amount then get it all prepared.
I usually use things that help the elderly do tasks, f.ex shoe horns, automated can openers and other things like that. I try to stay away from shoe laces and usually go for slip on shoes (crocs 4 life) but ultimately you need to find what works for you and give yourself more time when doing things, hope this helps :)
