How to cope with pain? I’m going in for surgery within the next few months but i’m absolutely miserable. The acid and stomach aches have never been so bad before.

I use an over the counter acid reducer and some antacid tablets (off brand tums) for my acid reflux. Mine got so bad I woke up not being able to breathe and I thought I was going to die because my throat felt closed completely. But so far the combination of these two work for me. I try taking the acid reducer before/ when I'm eating and then the tums if I get an upset stomach or if I still wake up with acid reflux, which only happened once but it was way back in my throat so it didn't actually hurt like usual it felt like a dry throat more or less. If you don't have meds you can always drink milk, it gives a bit of relief to your throat. If you get it in your nose, like I have, I recommended using water to rinse it as best you can and once the pain has numbed blow your nose to get rid of the buildup of mucus.

I’ve been taking protonix and sucralfate that’s worked so good for me. If I forget to take them I get pain so bad I literally can’t think about anything else.
