Is it okay to try and maintain a romantic relationship while also trying to deal with my depression? I feel like at times I drag her down due to my condition. She has it too, and the same thing happens.

my best advice is to make sure you have time on your own. i used to be emotionally attached to my boyfriend, but once i cleaned my area and took care of myself more, it helps significantly. i’m not saying it gets rid of everything completely and everything’s fine, it just makes it better. we aren’t long distance so it was convient to see him constantly but we have a stronger relationship now. if you need them don’t be afraid to contact them. what exactly drags them down? like their mental health?

people of all mental health backgrounds can maintain healthy relationships! it may cause some more work, but communicating your feelings, being open-minded to the other's perspective, & recognizing that what your experiencing is an illness, not a reflection of who you are. making time for therapy, self-care, & taking your medications on time can help. also, writing out your feelings & thoughts for your partner to read can help too! setting small, achievable goals for each day/week; encouraging them to express how they feel about the relationship; & maintaining intimacy, whether that be quality time, physical touch, words of affirmation, acts of service, etc. writing is my strongest form of communication, & it allowed for me to put a visual to my thoughts so my partner could understand me better. it really helped our relationship. :)

Sit down and just have a heart to heart,so you both can relay your issues together from there you can problem solve and hopefully make things better. Understanding each other is key
