Did anyone else get ignored or told they were faking in the weeks following up to their diagnosis? Does anyone else feel that their diagnosis was traumatic? Does anyone else feel that their T1D has done things to their brain and mind and body -- like cognitive damage and brain fog? I feel as though I'm either being horribly dramatic or I'm seriously onto something.

yes, everyone told me I was faking it for attention but then realized I wasn’t

I hit 180 and my brain is shit. Ppl don’t SEE how the bloodsugar fluctuation makes you physically and mentally feel. It’s tough. I am trying to accept that people will never understand(unless diabetic themselves) and trying to be okay with it.

i got told to suck it up and then suddenly dropped into a coma and almost died. i also have fog brain but i call it jelly brain
Also have Brian fog more often that I use to. I have it multiple times a week now
I think the worst part for me was losing weight and not know why. The ppl around me made me feel awful (esp ppl at my job). I was told i wasn’t eating and that I was depressed. I needed to see a therapist, but I knew something about my body was completely off.
