You guys wanna share ADHD/ADD hacks to share the wealth with each-other? I’ll go first. TILES FOR YOUR VALUABLES. I have one on my keys, one in my wallet, and one in my bag! They’re so helpful for me. I know there’s different brands that do the same thing though but I personally use Tile. It’s so helpful for me to not get completely pissed when I lose something 😂

letting go of things when you have to! don't remember where i heard this but it's like juggling a ton of different balls. but some are made of plastic, while some are made of glass. to keep going sometimes you have to be prepared to let one drop so you can save the others.

try to plan a little, but don’t overplan!! NTs will tell you to plan all the time but personally I find their system of planning doesn’t work for me. if I can’t start a task bc of adhd paralysis people are always telling me to find a time when I will do it, but that just results in the task being ignored until then, and there is no guarantee that the same thing won’t happen then. this isn’t foolproof, but I would stress the importance of taking advantage of productivity bursts to get things done – and if you can’t, try and find a way to engage with the task by rereading something or thinking about it or even breaking it up and planning smaller parts to reduce the workload when you come back to it!!

I changed the way I organise my fridge - I used to do what most people do and put veggies and stuff in the drawers, etc., But I now put things that will perish quickly in the door or on a shelf at eye level and only use the drawers for things like condiments. It means with object permanence issues I don't completely forget about the food that needs eating!!

Post-its just everywhere! Different funky colours, annoying places so i don't forget things. E.g a bright pink one over my pc monitor so i can't see the screen. Changing clothes to change "modes". I run my own business from home so it was very easy to just stay in my PJs but i found that changing into 'work clothes' makes my brain want to work. If i start to fall into that hyperprocrastination mode again, take off a layer, change my hair, put on a different ring and bracelet. I don't know why it works so well, but it does for me! Phone/alexa reminders that are loud. E.g water the plants, have lunch, clean out the rabbits, wash your bedsheets etc. Hugely helps me

I have another one now! I found this app called Pantry Check that lets you scan the barcodes of food/drinks/other and it adds it to a virtual pantry! It shows the expirations too and gives you push notifications for things expiring soon. I’ve gotten into the habit of making my grocery lists on there (THERE’S PICTURES OF THE SPECIFIC KINDS!!!) and scan the barcodes of the stuff as I get groceries instead of trying to do it at home (cause I wouldn’t lol). It’s good for me because I forget what’s in my fridge so I can look at my phone for what to eat and that way I don’t forget the things shoved in the back

My mom (who also has ADHD) actually suggested this one for laundry. I always have the issue of not putting my clothes away. Well she suggested folding the clothes and stacking them WHILE IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM and then putting the clothes away in my room from there. I've tried it for a few loads and it's worked so far.

Open storage, giant dry erase calendar, brain dump board, big 3 tasks for the day, habit stacking/keystone habit, “pill popper” on amazon (I know it sounds bad, just trust me), kneeling chair, habit reward chart, task bracelets, stim toys ! Lemme know if you have any questions!

@fruitpunk open storage was life-changing!! Also task bracelets I made them a few months ago... Just realized I haven't used them in a while so thanks for the reminder 😂

It may seem really simple but everything has a place and everything is in its place. I have an issue with object permanence so this is important to know where everything is. Hubby is not allowed to rearrange things without my knowledge. He also has adhd so that can be tricky.

It Helps Me To Listen To A Playlist Of Songs That Give Me A Surge Of Dopamine While I’m Doin The Task I Struggle With

@Bean69 I would totally do that, BUT I can't focus on my homework with any sort of background noise. I do listen to music during other things like cleaning, though

I'm still figuring out my ADHD, so I don't really have any hacks. There is an awesome YouTube channel called How to ADHD and she is so helpful! It was nice to hear her story because it made me feel less alone. Often times, when I have something I need to get done after work, I'll get home and start on it IMMEDIATELY. I know that if I don't, I will sit down and call it quits for the day. Sometimes, I neglect to empty my bladder because I'm so focused on cleaning or finishing an assignment for school. Not good! Go to the bathroom, y'all!

arktherapeutic.com has things to chew on and pick at. This helped me with my fidgety impulses

I have tiles attached to so many things! But the batteries have since died and my brain keeps meaning to sort them 🙃 I read somewhere that using children's toothpaste can help with brushing your teeth because it tastes nice 😅 havent used it personally and not sure if it would have the same protection, but might be worth trying 🤷‍♀️

I use apps to help my organize! Habitica makes tasks and building habits a game and you can get cool loot, and it's helped me take all my meds regularly, and stay up on my chores. Then My Study Life is great for organizing school stuff, and you can color code things and it'll tell you what's due in the next three days, i find it useful for reducing overwhelm. Both are free

That’s a good one, which I’ve been meaning to do. Here’s my favorite: give yourself a reward BEFORE trying to start a task. The reward gives your brain a little dopamine boost, which should make it easier to get started! Promising myself a reward after never works for me, but this does—it’s not fail-proof but it’s helped quite a bit!

@aldrwytch I’ve never tried that one! I need to cause the reward after method has a 100% fail rate for me 😂
