Exploring Unspecified Personality Disorder with Masochistic Traits

this feels like I'm sending a letter in a bottle to sea lmao, but I'm just curious. how many people on here have a personality disorder that's not from the list of the official 10 in the DSM-5, or have a diagnosis of something along the lines of "unspecified personality disorder with [x] traits"? (or are questioning!) i have a diagnosis of Unspecified Personality Disorder with masochistic traits. I had of course heard of and was at least vaguely familiar with BPD and NPD when I got those diagnoses, but I had no idea what the hell that one was about. when I looked it up, a lot of my behaviors that couldn't be explained by the other two or anything else for that matter suddenly had a name to them, and it was an amazing feeling. I had in the past actually joked many times about being an "emotional masochist" with a couple friends of mine. I had no idea it was an actual thing, and I thought I was just an awful person LMAO. I've read of the controversy behind the diagnosis, which was probably a big factor in it not being in the DSM now, but I find comfort in it. which... is actually probably a very cliche thing to say as someone with that disorder, huh lol
