Feeling Unheard and Misunderstood by My Parents

My mom and step-dad just called the other day, and instead of having a conversation my dad just yelled at me for twenty minutes. I've done so much that he's told me I needed to do and he kept telling me how I was wrong about what I was doing. He keeps telling me that he's made my mistakes and I should be learning from what he's saying, but I highly doubt he's lived the way I have. He went on a whole tirade about values he respects and apparently I have none of them. I'm not loyal, or honest, or make sacrifices or anything. And then he wonders why I hate myself. When I thought my mom was going to support me, she told me that it was time to start getting rid of my self esteem issues. Like they'd go away overnight... I guess I'm just tired of trying for everyone to just be mad at me.
