I recently got new insurance and found out today that they are denying my Dupixent because I was also prescribed a topical medication called Opzelura and their reasoning for denying it is because the topical it is an “experimental drug” and it is expensive or that’s the reason I was told. I don’t even use the topical stuff because it burns my face, doesn’t prevent breakouts from happening, and it makes my skin peel. I’m just so upset and worried that I won’t be able to get it authorized and I’ve been on Dup for almost two years - it’s the only thing that’s really helped my skin. Has anyone else had issues with getting Dupixent authorized through insurance?
