Hello everyone. I'm new here, I was recently diagnosed with PTSD and am looking for suggestions on how to deal with my frequent attacks I get through the day.

Self talk, something that represents my actual comfort items (usually a stuffed animal or 2), music with noise cancelling headphones, something you like to do (could be a game on your phone or tablet), a book to read and distract yourself from the cause of the attack. I've had a few since I have multiple causes of my PTSD: hospitals and military. Surgery scares the crap out of me and makes me stop breathing and explosions make me need to hide. Music and drawing have been my best friends if there's not an animal around.

I've read about the safety bags. But wouldn't help me, I can't shove my bed, my huge blanket or my cat in a bag lol
Carry a safety bag with you, something that makes you feel secure. Fill it with everything you need to feel safe and comfortable, i have an accross the body bag that feeling on the body makes me feel more in control.
