I used to take Prozac for my PMDD and it really helped me. This past spring I started having bad allergy/asthma symptoms that pretty much never went away and my doctor said I was experiencing a very rare long term use side effect of Prozac. The symptoms went away after I titrated off it, but now my PMS is bad again, I get really mean and sad at the same time! Is there anything else I can ask my doc about that can help with PMDD? I also take birth control to help with the physical symptoms.

I don’t like that I’ve gained a lot of weight every time I’ve taken an SSRI as well. I still struggle to lose weight despite taking a stimulant for my ADHD. I’m hoping there is something I could take that doesn’t have weight gain as a common side effect.

There are many other SSRIs that your doctor can prescribe you. If nothing helps and your Prozac is the only drug that helps, maybe it’s worth taking it with treating the allergy symptoms separately?
What about paroxetine ?
Yes, and I haven’t had great experiences with either sadly. Lexapro turned me into a zombie and buspirone gave me nightmares and nausea 🙃
Have you asked about SSRIs? Or Anxiolytic?
