Hi guys, my name is Sydney and I have struggled with chronic nausea for around a year now. I also suffer from emetophobia (the fear of vomit/vomiting) and that has made this nausea even worse. The past few days I have felt like I am seconds away from throwing up with no relief. I have tried to allow myself to throw up but my body always stops. I was just wondering what helps you all relieve some of the discomfort and nausea and if you do throw up what makes it easier for you?

Honestly focusing on breathing is huge for me, I'm the exact same way. Also medical marijuana has worked wonders for both my actual nausea and my anxiety around maybe vomiting, depending on if you are comfortable/how old you are but honestly do what you need to do because I've needed to smoke everyday since I was 15 to survive how severe my chronic nausea is

Smelling alcohol wipes can help sometimes for me. Another thing I've been trying is using a tens unit on my earlobes.

I also have emetophobia. Xanax works best or 2 Benadryl if no Xanax. I try to watch YouTube videos or something for distraction. But for me, getting sooo sleepy that I don’t feel nauseous anymore is the best solution

i struggle with the exact same thing. one thing that helps me is putting a washcloth or paper towel soaked in cold water on my face or back of my neck. another thing is Vistaril (Hydroxyzine). It takes about 15- 20 mins to work but it honestly helps me a lot. It is the sister drug to Xanax and so it helps a lot with my anxiety especially relating to throwing up. Another thing is Bi taps which is a form of portable EMDR therapy that is 70% effective in stress reduction in the first 30 seconds. you can look them up they connect to your phone. hope this helps. remember you are not alone 💛💛

I have to make myself throw up when it’s that bad or it just doesn’t go away :( Zofran helps sometime and kombucha seems to also help

I find ginger or mint eases my nausea. I drink it in tea. I hope it eases for you soon!

I'm picking up some gin gins today because I'm hoping to enjoy something tasty that helps my stomach. Until i can find them, I've noticed I can eat fruits and veggies during the day and to get a full meal in the evening I take Dramamine, eat my meal then rest. Having understanding family helps a lot

I have noticed whenever I get nauseous and I think about it, it definitely gets worse cause of the anxiety. This may sound easier said then done but I would try distracting yourself, even if it’s just coloring a coloring book. I hope this helps you.
