I am considering changing medication because my current med was focused on my anxiety, but my PTSD has gotten way way worse and I’d like to test some. Any success? Also, I’m starting to get muscle aches and stomach pain most days, especially for a while after a meltdown. Could I be developing a chronic pain condition from the stress on my body?
There really isn’t a Specific medication for PTSD the meds usually treat other issues and then with time ptsd gets gradually better . I’m on a combination of meds plus 2 types of therapy in order to get it back in check. I’ve been prescribed Xanax which for me seems to help the best but usually psychs don’t like to prescribe it because of it’s addictive quality and really only will as a last resort once they’ve tried other options. Other meds could be Zoloft, Prozac Paxil, Seroquil, Zyprexa, Risperdal, Ativan.
