I want to be hospitalized so badly (I feel lonely and need attention), but I don't want to risk missing classes or losing my job.

@aevyn I’m glad they have all been positive experiences for you! I wish I had the drive and motivation to complete my classes; good on you! Honestly do what you think is best for you, and if that means a hospitalization, do it. I wish you luck

I literally went through the same thought process in April and ended up creating big problems that ended up in my hospitalization. I personally thought the experience was enlightening and I wouldn’t go again if I had the choice. There is, however, a part of me that wants to go back but now I have a good support team and great therapist that I can fall back on instead. My hospitalization resulted in failing 2 of my classes, delaying my graduation a whole year.

@Cat.mom.of.4 I have had so many academic issues from all my hospitalizations, but it was still worth it for me. I always managed to complete my courses in the end (even if it meant taking an incomplete and finishing it the next semester).

I work in a psych hospital and I can tell you that being hospitalized will not help with the attention. Staff will NOT put up with the attention seeking behavior. If you act out, you will be there longer as well. It would be best to go to seek outpatient treatment like counseling and develop healthy coping skills.

@Boobear98 I am not trying to disagree with you, but maybe that's just at the hospital you work at? I have been hospitalized 5 times, in different states, and I had amazing experiences at all of them. I got all the attention and support I needed. They were such good experiences, that's why I want to go back.

I love the honesty, it's nice. Anyway, I also have BPD, but I don't struggle with the attention thing too much. But one thing I'll do is try to be the funny person in the room. Sometimes with some over sharing. SO that can backfire for me, and almost always does WITH the oversharing, unless I'm around other traumatized ppl. Haha. SOOO the internet is the best place to be. My safest option I try to always pick is literally play games on Roblox (any game will do) and say whatever I think is funny in voice chat as I'm playing (voice chat users are 16+). If there's a bad crowd or boring game, ya go to next the server. Plus it's easy to lead a group of people around and do stupid shit. Some players are FUNNY and some are just immature and will laugh at whatever you say. I hate myself but it's damn fun sometimes.

@Dorkasaurus thanks for the advice! I also have a huge problem with oversharing - it has definitely gotten me in trouble before 😮‍💨
