okay, undiagnosed but fairly sure and I just have one question for the ladies, preferably the married ones. HOW DO I GET MY BRAIN TO HYPER FIXATE ON PLANNING MY WEDDING. 🤣😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 I got SO focused on it for like a WEEK. and now can't get back to it. 😭😭😭 I made a lot of progress but now the motivation is gone. despite very much wanting to get married to my s/o.

So ADHD brains like things that are interesting, new, creative, challenging, or urgent. It sounds like the planning Newness wore off. So I suggest figuring out ways to make it one of the other things. Have someone give you a deadline to meet up (or zoom up) and discuss an aspect of the planning (flowers, color themes, whatever) and look for ways to flex your creativity/make it interesting. Coffee dates in person or virtually to talk over details, or try your hand at making a wedding website, or designing invitation, or making bridesmaids gifts or whatever you might like.

@GingerToriel so currently I'm kinda struggling because my fiance only responds when I put forth ideas, he doesn't really have any on his own about it (we've already discussed his ideas), his family is choosing violence as far as wedding planning goes, my mom has never planned a wedding before (her first one was kinda thrown together and very low budget but she enjoyed it, it was a baby shower/wedding duo, her second was a court house wedding), my wedding party all works too much (and there's 2 females out of 12 members lol), and honestly kinda just not feeling the excitement from anyone. I know they are excited, but no one has the same energy I have about it.

Are you familiar with project management? There are a variety of different free apps. If you already have familiarity with that approach you may know if you need something where you are the solo team member, and you create rewards for yourself. Ones where you create a team (your s/o, wedding party, family, etc). You can even think of whether your team is created for different roles. Some people with decision making abilities, minions to help accomplish specified tasks, or listeners that cheer you through accomplishments. Project management software reminds me a lot of behavioral therapy modalities I learned as a parent with my kid's therapists.

Are you planning to go on a honeymoon? If so maybe that part excites you and you can plan that part of it and maybe outsource the wedding planning to someone else. If thats not an affordable option then ask your fiancé to help maybe it'll be more fun doing that together!

@IcedChai we're doing a road trip, I've already done the research for the car rental, and a few destinations. Stress keeps side tracking me. Lol

@Magpi doing my best! We currently are not able to put any money down on anything and I think that's discouraging my brain from continuing on making the decisions and planning on things.

@squishy.sadness I bought a book, and that motivated me for the one week. 🤣🤣 Prior to that I had gone a year with nothing planned.

@Niz But it did get me a venue, a dress style, guest list, invite and save the date designs, decor ideas, and a plan for the food.

@Niz I tried a pinterest board, but I was over that within 48 hours lol
