Why is it that I'm so lethargic and exhausted ALL day but as soon as I get in bed to try and rest, I'm wide awake and sleep is almost impossible :( I feel like I'm being tortured by my own brain

Brains just hate the body they are attached to. That's my conclusion

I've been the same way lately. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open yet I'm bouncing my foot

Omg this is so relatable I'm the same , my body also becomes really restless aswell especially my legs and feel like I cant keep them still so I can really relate but during the day I'm shattered never have any energy at all , the smallest of tasks take it out of me , its been really getting to me tbh x

Very relatable, sleeping feels like such an effort, same with everyday tasks
I fully understand. My sleep is terrible right now. I wish I could be productive if I wasn’t going to sleep but I can’t do anything except lie there. So frustrating.
I’ve found getting as much sleep as I can to be helpful, unfortunately sleeping 14 hours a day is a bit strange
I can relate to that. My partner is always confused by why I'm so energetic when just few minutes ago I was so tired before going to bed. 😅
Personally, when I’m emotionally avoiding something in my waking life, feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, or I’m not being busy enough I stay up late at night. I also end up feeling melancholy or empty though out the day, which makes me even more tired

Absolute mood. I think it’s because when it’s finally time to go to bed, we feel pressured to go to sleep which keeps us awake. Also, once it’s night time and you have that quiet time in bed, your brain becomes more active since it’s it doesn’t have to deal with the activities of the day anymore.

Do you live in an area that gets less sun this time of year?
@sorenachy Good old Britain.. though that did make it click in my mind, I have a rather raging vit-D deficiency from practically never going outside, it's likely that isn't helping my sleep 😔
@WompWomp vitamin D3 and a light box are going to help tremendously. Make yourself get up at the same time in the morning to use the light box for about 20 a day.
the same thing happens to me i hate it 😔 like brain please i think you're working backwards here
