My name is T.mD. I have a lot of issues with my depression and I apparently don't qualify for state insurance. I can't hold down a job for long because of a lot of my mental conditions, but I can't seem to get an updated diagnosis to get the help I need because the state of Kansas says I'm able bodied and I don't qualify for state insurance assistance. It's a catch-22... Someone please help!

You are not able bodied if you suffer from depression to the point where you can’t hold a job. You are unable to work because of your depression. I am unfamiliar with Kansas but depression can be severely debilitating. So if anyone asks you if you can work say you are unable to work because of the depression. Then you should get treatment. Hopefully this helps.

@Another_Joe I've tried telling all the right people AND everyone else that I can't work because of it, and I just get dismissed and told to suck it up and contribute like everybody else. I get told that there's nothing wrong with me, that I'm just letting things get to me. I cry out constantly and it's useless and pointless. Nobody ever hears me. I can't ever get the help I need...

@TmD I hear you. You need more supportive people in your circle. I found this resource online about services in Kansas. https://www.opencounseling.com/public-mental-health-ks#two No mental health provider should ever tell you to suck it up. There are people who can help you. You just have to dig to find them.
