Monkeypox spreading: Is anyone else feeling anxious?

TW: Monkeypox. Hi!! Hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if anyone else is watching the news about monkeypox spreading in the US and Europe, and if they’re also having increased difficulty leaving the house because of it. I was meant to do exposure today, but I had a panic attack just thinking about getting in the car and going outside where I might catch it. It’s like my fears at the beginning of COVID but 1000x worse because monkeypox sounds even more terrifying to me. I don’t want to go out of the house at all, and part of me hopes we go into quarantine for monkeypox before it can spread. I know it might seem like I’m jumping ahead into the future, but I just have a bad feeling about this and hope I’m not alone.
