Im so nervous about my parents seeing im getting an sti test im considering submitting a confidential communications request but I think it can only be done by mail and it probably won’t get there in time anyway. It also says theyll honor the request if failure to do so would endanger me and that’s not necessarily true so I feel like I shouldn’t but i just don’t want sensitive services to show up on the bill. It would probably be extra suspicious if she suddenly stopped receiving any of my health information though and that’s the only option I have.
You could ask what the cost would be without insurance if you are worried about her seeing the bill. A lot of places will do it for free though. I believe planned parenthood does, most universities do, lots of nonprofit and community organizations. As long as there isn’t a bill sent home, there is no reason why anyone in your family would know.
