Just a bit frustrated - I’m going to run out of a few of my meds because my psych meds prescriber switched practices without telling me. I emailed her, never heard back, emailed again, and eventually contacted where I used to see her. Much to my surprise, they told me that she no longer worked there. I searched her name on my insurance app, and was able to find where she works now by some miracle. She’s on medical leave, though, so I’m going to be out of at least one or two meds for a few days. I’m glad it’s not longer, but the whole thing is super frustrating. It becomes super ironic, with one other piece of information – this happened with another provider who had worked at another company. Yep, she stopped working there for whatever reason, and didn’t (or wasn’t able to) tell me ahead of time. At that time I wasn’t on any meds my PCP couldn’t prescribe, but that’s not the case now. Sheesh 😒🙁
That sucks! This may not work if you're taking a stimulant, but I'd try to see if a local urgent care would write you an emergency prescription. At best, they could give you a few days worth so you have more time to figure things out. I'm a pharmacy tech, and that's worked for a couple of my patients in worst-case scenarios. Depending on the urgent care, they may be hesitant to prescribe a controlled substance, so you should definitely call first to ask.
