I don’t do “forever” or “never” well. My physical therapist told me I have to do my exercises 3-4 times a week FOR LIFE and it’s not optional for me because my bones are so bad. And I’m still in my 30s. This kind of thinking just terrifies me. If I have a time limit—like “do this until such and such date” or “give this up until such and such date,” that’s no problem. I can do that because I have an end point to look forward to. But the idea of doing something or giving something up for the rest of my life, with no end date or “cheat day” is just mortifying.

      Well everyone needs to do exercise. It's recommended 30mins daily for overall health. I understand when your told its different and lifestyle changes are difficult to deal with at first but I'm sure the more you do it the easier it will become. Also 3-4 days out of 7days you are getting your so called 'cheat days' I refer mine as rest days. Also I am sure you can chose which days to do them on for example; 1 day on, 1 day off and 1 day on again or 2 days in a row 2 days off then 1 day on. There is still flexibility and choices such as doing them in the morning, afternoon or evening. You could even break it down throughout the day on an off day. You do have more control then you think. Good luck on your journey 🙏

      Ok, I know this sounds dumb, but you have to put it in the same category as "eat" or "go to the bathroom". You don't stop eating just because you know you'll have to eat tomorrow. It's just a part of being. It becomes background noise to the living part of being alive. I also don't agonize over having to pee in the morning. It's just something the body needs. Some things are optional, some aren't. For me, it's my medication. Yeah... I could stop taking it, in the same way I could just stop eating. But the end result would be same. I hope this takes the PT out of the terrifying, into the manageable bucket.

      I have pelvic floor therapy exercises that I have to do daily for the rest of my life. I know it seems daunting, but I look at it as wellness similar as going to the gym, eating well, self care, etc. It gives you a better life and that’s what matters

      I know how frustrating it can be. I have the same problem because of Keppra and I am 27. Lifting weights has really helped me, and certain supplements, such as: Vitamin D, Calcium, Betaine, and folic acid.
