so I'm super nervous, I have a doctor's appointment today and I pray that my levels are ok and not horrible, but is there any medications anyone can recommend for me for my RA, I haven't been on anything in years and my joints have stayed inflamed for days and the pain from it is unbearable to the point my husband has to help me out of bed in the morning. please anyone recommend any medications or treatment plans that have worked for you and if there are foods or supplements that u take that help u plz share!!!

I think turmeric supplements help me. Also definitely avoiding nightshades: potatoes, tomatoes, tomatillos, eggplant, ashwaganda, peppers including spices with nightshades for some people. It is a pain but definitely worth it! Also for me avoiding dairy and gluten helps a lot. They're very inflammatory.

I tried hydroxychloroquin, now I’m on enbrel injection & leflunomide. My hands are still degenerating & I don’t think I’ve found the right combo yet, but the meds do help with other RA symptoms so I can generally function

I to am on Orencia and Otrexup which is an injectable of methotrexate and it helps though by the end of month i start to feel pain mainly in my hands. I was diagnosed at 17 but nothing was done about it till I was 30 after my first child. My hands are severely crippled especially my left hand. I am an artist and lucky that I'm right handed.

I’m on Enbrel and Methotrexate and they help out a fair amount. Cannabis as well but ik that’s not for everyone or necessarily accessible. I didn’t respond at all to other drugs so I’m pretty content with what that combo does for me. I’ve started doing yoga in the morning and that’s helped with my morning stiffness a bit. As far as food recs if you’d be interested in doing an elimination diet that could might be helpful. I found out I had a gluten intolerance and it makes me flare up sooo bad. Hope you can find some things that work for you!

I’m on Orencia infusions once a month and methotrexate once a week. Pretty well-controlled. Good luck. I wouldn’t be able to walk without RA meds.

Stay away from tomatoes and any night shades. Google you're info from the Dr, it'll help you understand your condition. I have had RA for a long time, diagnosed at 50, I'm now 64. They'll start you off on methotrexate most likely. But you take another med with it but it didn't work for me. I hope you find something that'll work for you, there are several so don't give up, ok.

@LittleBit1958 I've heard tomatoes are bad which is sad cuz I love tomatoes and everything with tomatoes n it! What are night shades?

I was the same way. I started taking Rinvoq in January and I feel like I have a new lease on life. Truly! I've had RA for 27 years!!
