Ive had two aura episodes in the past month or so and prior to the first one I never had auras before. The symptoms make me think they're focal seizures because they're only effecting one side of my body. My right eye will have obscured vision that's almost like vibrating and my left is completely normal. my doctor's are saying migraine but the auras only last 30-60 second or so and then after I'm so exhausted I can't stay awake and sleep for 2-3 hours after the episode. the first episode presented with confusion, high hr, extreme anxiety, and extreme exhaustion plus some mild memory loss following the episode. The second episode was only the aura, the extreme exhaustion after, and some mild memory loss. My doctor's are trying to say migraine but I really feel it's not and I'm curious if anyone has focal seizures that present similarly. every migraine aura description/picture looks nothing like the visual disturbances I've had. thanks 🙂

@royalty - nobody has ever mentioned seizures to me 🤨

I also have issues with pain on only one side of my body. It's always my right side and lately I've been having episodes that my neurologist thinks might be seizures. But after the really bad ones, I have this awful pain in my legs and right arm.

@royalty I didn't have any issues with pain or numbness but today I had my hand and foot both fall asleep at the same time on my right side and a few minutes later my vision was blurry in my right eye for about 60 seconds. It started out really bad, then slowly returned to normal. I don't know if this was the same thing as the past two episodes because I wasn't as tired after, but I did end up taking a second nap two hours after so i was still fairly tired. Just not the overwhelming exhaustion I had the past two times. I'm keeping a diary for my neurologist and my cardiologist to speak with both of them about it.

I’ve been diagnosed with Migraine but I don’t think it is - we know our own bodies. I get crazy pain in left side of head/eye and sometimes down left side of body which I’ve had for many years plus occasional numbness/tingling but I also have issues with spine so I think more related to that. I occasionally see worm like objects in my vision that can be clear or very silvery bright plus small floaters - I’m told it’s nothing 🤷🏽‍♀️

I am not diagnosed because I am pretty sure it's focal seizures but the doctors think it's just ear wax.

@Ash.G I have similar symptoms though. With a few other ones that you did not mention.

@Ash.G what other symptoms? Because I've had a lot with the first episode. This second episode was moreso just overlap with my POTS symptoms. I'm also curious about the earwax thing?? Like how do they figure that? And why 🤦🤦 I do think it could be focal seizures but when I thought about going to the ER for this last episode I was told by ER nurse triage it probably didn't need to be seen immediately, but ik if it's a focal seizure they're not gonna be able to diagnose unless I go to the ER immediately after the seizure. So idk. Sorry this was all over the place.

Some individuals with focal epilepsy have shared their symptoms during aware seizures, which include deja vu, vivid visual memories, dizziness, anxiety, euphoria, and tiredness afterward, often accompanied by a headache on one side. These symptoms may vary, but it's essential to consult with your doctor for a proper diagnosis and discuss your concerns about the possibility of focal seizures (32cf1d3e-5ec5-4eb6-996c-989ba3c77b97).
