@Misfortune I have had severe and disturbing tactile hallucinations in the worst of my depressive episodes and it's really strange and I've had long term issues (almost like PTSD) from them but I've never met anyone with the same experience
It's like bliss š¤
Or better yet have someone else get it for me
I just need to wait or I can make a fake license
I already have it's been a year and nothing has happened
You can have peace. That's why you have to respond to the thoughts like you don't care. You are the boss
Everything will be fine once I can get my hands on weed
I've accepted my fate
I'm just used to at this point I'll never have more than a few hour a day of peace and that's my routine
It has taken control of my life
@Misfortune Well, either way, good luck! Everything will be okay š
Well, if you're already used to them and they aren't taking control of your life, it might not be OCD
One more year and I'll be home free
Just one more year
This is my life and when I'm 21 I'll just do weed again
šI already am used to them I've accepted that this is my life now āŗļø
You live with them by getting used to them. You don't try to get rid of them, you let them stay for as long as they want without doing compulsions. If your brain goes "am I a bad person?" "do I want to hurt people?" etc your response should be something like "maybe, maybe not." To live with OCD is to get used to uncertainty
And then went to use the blender and my brain was like what would happen if you stuck you hand in there and I had an image of mangled hand and then it's like would the bone be removed or would it still be there how much skin and tendon would be removed and it keeps going on
Like when I was cutting up vegetables I kept having an image in my mind of chopped off bloody fingers
Live
Yeah but how do people love with them There's also images included ive let them happen I don't care to acknowledge them but still there there I want a calm brain not gore
But does autism cause intrusive thoughts?
@Misfortune It can, yes. But even people without mental illness experience intrusive thoughts. The difference is that with OCD, you become obsessed with those thoughts, they terrify you, and you do everything you can to prevent what you fear is going to happen. It will take control of your life, and I've never heard of that happening with autism
An easy autism symptom is not knowing if people are joking or not then getting mad or offended š¤£
With OCD, you feel like you HAVE to do something. If you don't do it, it feels like something terrible will happen. You get stuck in an endless loop of "my family will die if I don't drive around the block 2 times". In this example, driving around the block 2 times would be called a compulsion. Doing compulsions provides temporary relief from the anxiety and fear, but the intrusive thoughts that something terrible might happen will always come back and then the cycle repeats itself. Intrusive thought > compulsion(s) > temporary relief > intrusive thought > repeat
I know there similar but how can you tell the difference
I mean I can't tell if this is just my autism or it's something else
I just thought autism was being bad at social interaction having wack sensory issues and being terrible at emotions š¤£
@Misfortune Not entirely! Autism has many different parts to it, and someone can have autism and OCD at the same time. If you experience extreme anxiety and fear if you don't take a specific action, like driving around the block 2 times to stop your family from dying, I'd say it's most likely OCD
I also have autism and my therapist is oh this is just autism š¤£
Magical thinking sounds like someone would say in the medieval times at trialš¤£
@Misfortune Yeah it does LOL
This sounds like magical thinking OCD to me. OCD has different themes, if you don't know. Magical thinking OCD is thinking that something terrible will happen if you don't take a specific action. For example, "my entire family will die if I don't drive around the block at least 2 times" or "if I eat this specific food, it might give me cancer"
I couldn't enjoy Thanksgiving cause I feared I would die if I feel asleep and constantly checked my heart heart
I think my birds will die somehow by stuff I've done like spray lavender on pillow even thought lavender isn't harmful to birds
I very rarely eat candy or fast food in fear of diabetes
I shut all my doors and closet and shower door at night cause I feel like I'm being watched
Or have a terminal illness
Think every pain or symptom means I'm dying
I fear if I don't do this I'll die like drinking water after every meal
So I'm unsure
I feel like I'm being touched sometimes and its called tactile hallucinations wich can be caused by heavy drug use schizophrenia bipolar and anemia
@Misfortune I've heard of things like this happening with many different disorders. If you don't mind me asking, what experiences do you have that make you believe you might have OCD?
This isn't meant to be a rude question, but doesn't anemia have something to do with your blood? How would that cause the issues you're having? If you think you have OCD, I'd recommend finding a specialist
@Eren2273 with autism I can never tell if people are joking or that's an easy enough symptom to identify
@Eren2273 anemia can cause depression and anxiety also mood swings and delusions
@Misfortune Oh okay! Thank you for informing me, I wasn't aware of that. I'm sorry if my questions offended you :)
