How do I tell my doctor about my eating disorder and not be embarrassed by it?

but if your disorder isn’t public information to your family or care givers then you do have to be prepared for your doctor to also confront them about what’s going on. they can’t keep that type of stuff confidential :/

it’s not uncommon to feel embarrassed about your disorder, but your doctor is a trained professional who knows and understands how or why you’re feeling this way. you won’t be their first case or their last, i hope that provides some comfort.

I know exactly how you feel. I was embarrassed when I first brought my up with my doctor. The only advice I can offer is take a deep breath and know that you're doing a big and brave step in getting better. I'm proud of you. 💕
