Does anyone find their GERD is worse at different times of the year? I was diagnosed summer 2020, and it was immensely severe. By early winter I was in constant severe pain, had a scope, found nothing. This year, it was far less severe in the late winter and spring, and now it regularly reaches 80°F/27°C where I live, and it's come back with a fervor— awful even though I'm doing a course of omeprazole (Prilosec) right now. Anyone else relate? Know reasons why this might be? Have any advice? TIA!

About a year ago, I had it real bad and had an upper endoscopy done where they found damage. They put me on Omeprazole and told me to take it long term. I specifically asked about that because it says not to take longer than 14 days, and they told me to do it anyway. It ended up giving me SIBO, which made my MCAS so much worse. I'm going through phase 2 of a SIBO protocol now and finally healing from it. My nutritionist told me the SIBO thrives in low stomach acid and encouraged me to take apple cider vinegar (mixed with water) with meals. It has helped my GERD soooo much. I haven't had symptoms in months. Any time my symptoms flare up, I drink some vinegar water and I feel better. I also have to watch foods like chocolate that can make it flare up too
