Hi I was wondering what is the best way to interpret someone’s else’s emotions and feelings without making yourself look awkward?

This is something I have questions on sometimes. I always ask when I don't understand things and that used to be great, but I've noticed overtime that people end up getting annoyed or frustrated having to clarify how they're feeling or what they mean by certain things.

I am already awkward and weird so me asking someone to clarify is a few moments of them not having to deal with my weird and awkwardness. 😆

At this point in my life I just try to be honest about stuff so my life is simpler. So if I don’t understand what emotion they’re expressing or how they’re feeling I’ll ask them, “I don’t quite understand how you’re feeling right now, could you explain if you’re comfortable?” though sometimes I change up the way I say that of course since not everyone is a stranger and need so much politeness
