Scared of Surgery for My Pain

Hey kittygirl, I know you’re scared. Any surgery is scary, especially when you’re not sure what the results will be. I think that the fact that your doctor suffers from endo as well, can be an advantage because she understands how you feel.

If it doesnt help I'm not really sure what else I can do, she believes in more natural treatments (which honestly is great because medicine seriously isnt helping me now) but I dont forsee either natural or medical helping me. I'm honestly scared that I'll have to dig and scratch at finding some way that I can work at home and still have enough money to get by

I believe there is at least one person trained to do it professionally where I live. My new doctor I'm seeing also has endo and has had it done. I'm just hoping it at least helps a little bit. She recommended that I take aspirin but sadly even after not taking it for over 4 months the max dosage that can be taken hasn't helped with my pain. I'm just frustrated that nothing has worked

If you get surgery, make sure it is excision and NOT ablation. Ablation does not remove all of the disease and only covers what the doctor is able to see. Make sure the person doing surgery is specially trained in endo removal as well, because an uneducated surgeon is going to miss things or possibly make mistakes. I really hope this is helpful! I have done a ton of research on endo because I wanted to be as educated about it before proceeding with treatment. They burnt the lining of my uterus for endometriosis when I was 15 which is when they found it im 41 now and the only way to really get rid of the pain is a hysterectomy or possible ablation but either one u have to make sure ur ready to not have kids or ur done having kids. I go thru the pain all the time but I won't have either done because God waited until I was 38 to have my first child so I'm not having it done until I know I won't have anymore
