When stress is one of your main triggers for flairs, how do you manage it when your loved ones are going through a depressive episode? My partner has struggled with depression and substance abuse issues for many years. Thankfully, they have been sober for over 6 months. However, they are currently going through their worst depressive episode is a long time. They have directed a lot of their anxiety and anger toward me. It has been very hard for me to manage my stress with trying to help them through this. Stress is one of my main triggers for my chronic migraines and lupus. I think I am already feeling the signs of an impending flair. Other than getting them outside help, how do you manage your stress in these situations?

6mo is good progress! I'm sorry you're struggling right now šŸ˜„ People tend to feel like they have to be a catch all person and provide everything for their partner. It isn't the case! Of course you want to be supportive and help but it shouldn't cost you your health. Try and navigate boundries/substitutions so you don't have to take all the heat. Preventive care applies to stress too! I struggle with my anxiety and made myself little reminders near where I exist that it is just a phase, that the feelings pass and are just exaggeration. They're angry now, but it isn't really at you!
