You could either get a red marker and make lines or make some red ice cubes and let it melt on you

Distracting really helps me, so I try to keep my space as safe as possible, basically make it as difficult as possible for me to harm, and then distract like with shower/videos/video games. I found if I tried less harmful alternatives it helped at first but then it would just become a replacement so I found distraction helped a lot more. Also showers helped a lot because it was the opposite of what I felt like doing, like it was taking care of myself instead of harming. It was super difficult but having lots of different alternatives helped me get clean before I got into therapy which helped reduce urges/desire to self-harm. I also found crisis text line to be helpful at my worst times. It’s 741-741
What has helped me is holding ice, drawing with red red washable markers and then icing over what I drew, or putting a rubber band/hair tie on my wrist and snapping that
My go to is to doodle on myslef with marker, espically if it's something you like
@Than I can’t write on myself cause I’ll get yelled at
