Right now at work, we're getting ready for a big visit from the vice president of the company. There's been a huge focus lately on time management, which is something that I have always struggled with. At first I thought it was because I was lazy, but then I got diagnosed with ADHD and I started to accept that time management is something I will never be great at. The problem is that they expect me to get better at time management in a week, and it's just not possible for me. Maybe if I had more time to get better at time management I could do it, but not in a week. And the worst part is that I only work for part of that because I'm taking a few days vacation this weekend. Does anyone have any advice for how to get better at time management? Or maybe for how to tell my boss that it's never going to happen in the time that they wanted it to?

I like to set alarms for things and write them in my planner. I will also schedule things back to back so that I don't get bored and I spend the proper amount of time on things. And no matter what I'm doing, I take breaks. Be careful with breaks, though - your mind can wander and you may not be able to get back to what you were doing if your break is too long. I think you should talk with your boss. Tell them that you have a condition that makes time management very difficult for you and you're going to do your best to improve but you can't show realistic improvement in that short of a time period.
