i often lose friends because i prefer to keep my feelings and thoughts to myself. should i find ways to express myself more or keep my feelings to myself?

I am the exact opposite. I say what I think needs to be said and anything that doesn't, I keep to myself. I do have tact, meaning I don't say everything I'm thinking but I say enough that people may or may not like or agree. I have always felt that people don't have to like me but I will always be me. If they don't like it they don't have to be around me. I do however live by the code that was instilled in me as a child, "treat people the way you want to be treated". If you really think about it, we wouldn't have bullies and such if everyone lived that way.
