hi everyone! I have a whole host of illnesses but the ones I'm referring to in this post is my EDS, POTS and fibro. I'm really starting to struggle walking, pain is mainly in my feet, knees, hips, back, shoulders and neck (almost everywhere lol). My question for you all is what do you do for pain while walking?

I use a wheelchair most of the time, and platform crutches with AFO braces for short distances

I deal with the same thing. In the past I had used a cane for numerous years. What has helped me is pregabalin. It numbs the nerves so I can function.

Walking sticks, if we break I'm sitting down

Mobility aids are wonderful! My friend has severe POTS, EDS and a plethora of other issues. She uses a cane and wheelchair regularly! Her Tik tok handle is @reina_boo and she posts advice from her experiences!

@E11iefant thank you that's super helpful! I have a pretty judgemental family and mobility aids is a touchy subject but I'm gonna try a cane today when me and my bf go for a walk

i have a cane that folds out into a little seat so i can sit down and rest anywhere. and also just walking with the cane in general helps my balance/keeps my weight off whichever side hurts more

@avian thanks :) I've been looking into getting a cane, I have a crappy one I use occasionally but I find it hurts my hands do you have any tips for that?

@Mollyisme33 hmm i'm not sure, mine has soft foam around the handle so i haven't had a problem with that. depending on how it hurts your hands, maybe more cushioning on the cane or wearing gloves would be worth a try? :o
