My nutritionist recommends, rather than cutting out ALL sugary processed foods, eat in moderation and compensate for it. If you have a can of soda, eat something low-carb for the next meal, and make sure you have sugar rarely. I also like to get a nicer treat when I buy something sugary, to incentivize me to savor it and not just scarf it down. Rather than a cheap Hershey bar, for example, a nice imported chocolate bar with hazelnuts.

I avoid processed foods as they often have lots of sugars. High-fiber foods slow down sugar metabolism plus keep hunger at bay.

Meats, veggies, cheese, some fruits, fish! Pastas and breads are carbs. Your body can turn those into sugars.. so be careful with those foods. Hope that helps!
