Hello, I am new to this app. I am 35 (diagnosed at 20). I was raised with an attitude that hiding pain is noble and have done so dutifully. I have been working on my mental health and burnout and am learning to slow down. Since then, so many people in my life have called me lazy, accused me of giving up, or invalidated my experience. Does anyone have any advice on helping the people around me to understand my experience?

Until you have experienced what I have keep your opinions to yourself.

I'm kind of in the same situation. My attitude is who cares what people think? I hope that you can get past this!

Hey there you know your mind and body better than anyone. Listening to what our body is saying to us is key. Don’t let people dictate how you feel. Take care of yourself
@KDaw i agree, but its hard

In my experience... no one in your personal life is going to fully understand. It's really not their fault, but it does suck

The pain in my feet is unbearable some times. I feel very lucky that I have someone that understands what I am going through. I send prayers to you during this time.
@Wildcat my feet kill me . But discovered they are worse (TMI) when i need a poo
@Wildcat thank you. I appreciate your prayers and advice
Maybe if you had these people that are saying this, go to the doctor with you.
@Wildcat ❤️i have shown my medical lettera to people in the past, lol
