I started Lamictal and oh my gosh. I am dizzy and nauseous and super sleepy. I’m also super anxious about the rash and other side effects. Anyone take lamictal, do the side effects go away? Does it help your mental illness?

I just started lamictal a month ago, I haven’t had any negative side effects but I also haven’t seen anything positive yet either.

Lamictal has been good for me, I got the same side effects you got but they did go away over time, and for me it was worth it to stick it out. The rash is very very rare, and if you get it all you have to do is call your doctor and stop the medication. Everyone is different, it’s been a really important medication for me and I hope it is for you too. If those side effects are too much maybe you need to start at a lower dose

i’ve taken lamictal for only a short time (like around 4-5 months) but i had slight nausea when first starting out on the pill. i tend to get nausea every time they increase my dose, papaya chews on amazon work great for it and completely fixed my nausea. (dizziness is probably something different? )

Lamictal has helped me. I started taking it 6 months ago. I was worried about the rash, because they told me it was bad, but it seems to be pretty rare. I'm lucky tho, no medication I've ever started gave me any side effects, I don't know why. But Lamictal has made me feel so much more stable. I'm sure the side effects won't last long, and if they do tell ur doctor.

lamictal was a lifesaver for me. i had severe bpd and anxiety when I started, I was spiraling and wanting to relapse every day. I started last year and I’ve noticed a significant in symptoms, but for the first few days I had a headache and nausea. let me know if you have any questions about it!!

I take it for seizures but my neurologist said it should also help with my anxiety however I’m still having seizures frequently and my anxiety is about the same. I take a bunch of medication so I’m not sure I’d my dizziness it because of that.

I don't remember any dizziness or nausea when I started, but that was a long time ago. I really recommend talking to your doctor about those side effects! As for the rash, I was super concerned about that too but never developed one.

@NukaCola I know drowsiness is normal but I’ll talk to my doctor about the dizziness and nausea! Did you like lamictal? I’m on it for bipolar and bpd along with disassociation!
