Random Vent coming through:: I'm not quite sure how to deal with others who can talk for so long but normally i enjoy it. The only issue here is that she doesnt allow me to speak and this somehow always triggers mutism in me so i end up not talking at all and makes it harder to even speak because my brain is suddenly taking a verbal nap , but then she also neglects to ask me anything and the conversation is mostly focused on herself. im not quite sure how to avoid it happening if i suddenly verbally shut down so to speak. She has problems of her own so i dont get too upset but i often feel like im being shoved into a conversation that i know will only be about her and hearing about how her trauma is worse than others the second me or someone else shares something, its abit painful and idk what this is? it made me feel like the pain i went through was less than and when i share to her my experiences she is quick to dismiss and im honestly exhausted. She's a good person and she will listen when i try to share, but id say a vast majority is her going for hours about her issues if i try to go see her..šŸ˜

I have someone who does the same thing, whenever I try to acknowledge my trauma or ptsd, she immediately makes me feel unimportant because she's says things like "you don't know trauma/abuse like I do" "you haven't had to go through the same sh*t I did" I've learned that I need cut people like that out of my life, and you should do the same if possible.

@CharlieAlien i agree wholeheartedly, it just really gets to me when i hear people say that to another,or even when its implied in some sort of way. But for certain i'll be distancing myself from this person

@MagicBunny I'm glad, if it's a family member then it may be hard so remember to be strong. If it's a friend or coworker, then remaining distant even when nearby. Only talk when necessary and try not to give or ask for advice from this person. If it's to difficult, try talking with this person and letting them know how they make you feel and try to make them take it seriously.
