does anyone know if this is OCD or anxiety related or if I just have control issues that are unsolved, yesterday I came home and my mom had taken everything out of my room including furniture because she was trying to deep clean it but when she was done she took everything off of the walls to patch holes and paint them and then moved my furniture completely different then how I liked it and I freaked out I felt like I was crawling out of my skin because my room was now unfamiliar to me it caused an entire panic attack too the only other time I've seen some be frantic the way I was last night was when my friend (who has OCD) her mom did the samea thing. I'm not saying it is but I'm just curious if anyone knows if it's OCD, anxiety, or my need to control my own life

It could be OCD... but also you could be be having a normal reaction to someone who completed upturned and invaded your personal space! My Mom did that within the last year (minus the painting) but I was pissed! I felt like it was a HUGE invasion of privacy. I definitely had things in my room I wouldn't want my Mom to see that she probably did. I'm 32, female.

I am the exact way!! It is probably ocd with some anxiety but I can not stand when people move things in my room. You aren’t the only one so don’t feel bad ❤️
it could be any of those things especially because of the panic attack but I also just wanted to affirm you and say that anyone might react negatively to their entire space being rearranged without their consent. that sounds like a really intense experience and I would feel upset if my parent did that to me. having control over your personal space can feel really important. sorry that happened! sending care your way!
It could honestly be a combination of the 3, but can be amplified by OCD. Personally I really become uncomfortable when others touch or move my belongings, to the point where I will move it back myself. Unfamiliarity can really cause anxiety for me as well, especially if its a setting I set up myself such as a bedroom
@Viynyl exactly because I do have OCD but I've always had things how wanted it so this makes since thank you 🫶
@ashi3 Of course 🫶♡
I think there's a pretty good chance that it is OCD/Anxiety, I'm the exact same way whenever my stuff is rearranged
@v.nessa2708 thank you 🫶 this helped me out
