I recently got a daily positivity journal I don't write in it daily but I write in it when I feel like I most need it.

because a hallmark of one of my disorders is a poor memory and an inability to keep track of things I rely on others to help me manage my disorders

Guys keep in mind too Google calendar AMF some note apps too I believe you can save on the cloud and access from computers @ any given time... if you lose your phone all you need is the internet. I have my laptop from school as a backup method or my daughters phone šŸ¤£ šŸ˜’ Ok I might be horrible for that but if mommy needs to use it or borrow it for a day or 2 guess what, mommy wins. Companies suck and my job and appointments are more important lol

I write appointments down on multiple calendars and I also add it to my Google calendar. My medication I put by my bed for my night meds and I put my morning meds by my chair in the livingroom. The places I go when either going to bed or after I wake up. That helps me to remember.

Google calendar for appointments and events, reminders on my phone for meds (multiple reminders for both day and night meds), note pad for lists and quick notes. I would be lost without my phone.

It's highly likely I have ocpd & it's started to turn into ocd, so I'm very much a planner. I make lists. Lots of lists

Iā€™m horrible at tracking appointments, etc, but Iā€™ve managed to take my meds by taking them when I feed my fish! She gets grumpy if she doesnā€™t eat at the right time every day, so it keeps me in check.

To keep track of my meds, I use the app called Medisafe. For my appointments, I use my calendar. I put the appt in as Iā€™m making it. Iā€™m also the keeper of my partnerā€™s health stuffs!

@Bre19 yes. Focusing on other things always helps me. Itā€™s a positive distraction and can help get you out of your current situation and help resolve and solve problems.

Often the desire to give up is based on wanting the pain to stop. You can stop the pain in other ways. Giving up is not the solution.

      • TheUglyDuckling

        542d

@ajg1915 I hate that phrase bc people used to say to me all the time and it was toxic positivity the way they were doing it. But they were Christianā€™s of course so it was their thing. But I mean I still agree with it itā€™s just I feel sometimes itā€™s not good advice. I feel sometimes it is actually bad advice.

        • vmartinez6

          542d

@TheUglyDuckling agreed. It's ok to not think positively all the time. That's part of who we are as humans. Life sucks sometimes and a lot of people use that phrase as a backhanded "well things can be worse" attitude. It's good to be positive but when you're not in the right headspace for that, the comment can be condescending.

        • TheUglyDuckling

          542d

@TheUglyDuckling You have to use it appropriately and wisely at the right time sparingly. Toxic positivity can do more harm than good. Sometimes people are at really dark places in their lives and it can just hit them the wrong way.

@Eddieagain talk about it with us and maybe we can help but only share what youā€™re comfortable with of course. Try to use your words and express yourself and always ask for help when you need it.
