How to Stop Scalp Picking and Hair Loss?

I just thought of something I made for my teenager for this specific reason. I took an old notebook cover I think from dollar tree and covered it all over with strips of different kinds of tape, and stickers in several layers, just every which way. Then they could pick and pull all over the book. They said it helped some when the urges came.

My partner wears gloves most of the time to prevent himself from picking at scabs. It doesn't always work but it works for the most part.

I have to keep my hands busy when I feel the urge to pick. I do a lot of knitting! I also got anti-anxiety meds which does help some.

Bandaids on other parts of my skin make me pick at those instead of my scalp, hats when I know I’m more likely to pick (in your case maybe if you’re going somewhere that makes you anxious), also I tend to pick my scalp less when my hair is shorter
