Does anybody else with ASD worry about dating someone with ASD because you feel like if you have a meltdown or panic attack or both it will probably trigger the other person into having one. Or is it just me? I feel bad because a lot of my guy friends with ASD keep wanting me to date me but I'm worried that if I do and I end up having a meltdown or panic attack or both they're just going to have one themselves and I'll feel super bad about it am I the only one who feels this way?

My boyfriend doesn’t have autism but he is adhd, and we do certainly trigger each other. But we always talk about it after and are still going strong!! It takes a lot of work, just like any relationship. But it’s definitely possible :)

I am actively trying to marry someone else who has ASD and yeah occasionally we do trigger each other but it's pretty rare and we've managed to navigate it, just like anything else in a relationship it just takes communication and collaboration. We live platonically with a third autistic person who almost never triggers either of us. It also means that in the majority of occasions where only one of us is having issues the other understands what's happening better.

communication is important. but i will say yes, dating between two neurodivergent people can be incredibly challenging

Hi and I never had this experience but sometimes I get nervous like if I were to date someone and I tell them I have austim, would they still be interested. I still struggle with accepting my austim .

Sorry it was supposed to say wanting me to date them but I used speech to text so it didn't say what I wanted it to say lol 😂
