As I understand it, hashimotos with there isn't anything that we the patient can do to control it other than take our medication. There isn't a special diet to follow. Exercise doesn't effect it only medication.

Hashimoto's here also. The best thing to help is keep an eye on your tsh levels. I know other people I've talked to said they feel the best when tsh is closest to 1. I was 2.64 after 6 weeks on meds. So tired, sleeping 16 hours a day. After my last med increase I'm finally starting to notice a difference. Almost 3 months in, 2 weeks since my increase and starting to feel better. No nap today! Still fatigued. I'm going to try to request another increase.

Getting enough sleep, proper mental health care, finding what foods cause you inflammation and eliminating them (being mindful in this process if you have experienced eating disorders, I have which makes it a complex process) but changes in diet have helped me so much. Listen to your boat and rest when you need. Form a deep and loving bond with your body and take care of yourself like you would a child. Get proper nutrients & sunlight. Be kind to yourself, all of these things will make a difference. I’ve had so many doctors tell me there is nothing you can do, but that’s just as far as their training goes. There is absolutely tons you can do! Listen to your body and let it be your guide ❤️

Hashimotos causes hypothyroidism but best to treat them as separate issues. The autoimmune condition will not be helped by meds, only the hypothyroidism. For autoimmune it really is diet & lifestyle changes.

it’s so hard! I don’t have kids and I can’t even imagine dealing with all this plus kids on top of it 🥵 try to be gentle with yourself. I have days I feel so discouraged I feel like giving up, esp because I have struggled with mental health the past couple years. It gets a lot harder to care for ourselves when life brings its own challenges outside of the condition. It’s this balance between letting ourselves make mistakes & keeping self discipline requires to care for ourselves and it certainly not easy. Wishing you the best!! Avoiding gluten helps me a lot, minimal dairy and sugar. If that feels possible for you I think it’s a great place to start experimenting
