Physical pain flares are the biggest trigger for depression for me. Has anyone got some things that help you with this?

Agree. Do anything positive, no matter how small. Every tiny conquest is still better than none.

It's tough but try and do absolutely anything you enjoy to get your mind off of it. I know this is easier said then done with both the pain and depression. Everybody's pain tolerance is different what might not bother me hardly at all might be excruciating to you. All pain sucks from least to greatest. For the depression force yourself to do something read, write, watch TV, play video games, listen to music do something to get your mind active and away from the echo chamber of depression. When you feel bad everything is bad, force some good in there and give yourself that break, you deserve it. Again I know this is difficult, I have a terrible time doing it but I promise it does get better and easier. If you can distract your mind enough soon you'll find yourself enjoying something and the depression is quieter maybe not gone but sedated. As for pain take whatever pain med you prefer in moderation of course and try and get threw it. Pain is something you can't escape because it's within you, just like depression, the fight is always there and it's up to you to muscle down and say I'm not letting this get to me today. Not every day is going to be a good day some days you won't feel like fighting, some days you'll want to quit and that's fine to take a day and feel bad for yourself, feel anger that you have pain, feel upset that you're depressed, let emotions flow don't bottle it up but always remember to be careful dont hurt yourself or others and use that time to recenter yourself after the emotions settle. It does get better it just never looks like that from inside the fight, that's depression don't listen to it. You've got this we all do we all can fight together you're not alone.
