Hi, Shanda. I had my BKA in 2019 and totally get what you're saying. I have a good prosthesis and no other mobility problems, so while I can't get around perfectly, I can get around. The best thing I did for my mental state was to find an amputee support group. I had to travel about an hour to find one that was good, but meeting bilateral and above the knee amputees was inspiring and talking to other BKAs was helpful mentally and practically.
