Has anyone else ever had a dislocation flare up? I've had pain flare ups plenty but recently I've had sooo many dislocations and partial dislocations in my ankles, wrists, shoulders, and elbows. is a dislocation flare up even a thing??

Yes, joint instability can flare up at random. This is one theory: I and many other female EDS patients have noticed that our joints become more lax during menstruation. I talked to my gynecologist about this and we set up a “continuous cycling” birth control regimen. I’ve noticed an overall lower frequency of subluxations!

Yes! Mine seem to happen more often when I have inflammation flare ups. It’s almost like the inflammation causes things in my body to push against or pull on each other causing dislocations.

Yes, I'll have a week or two where nothing wants to stay in place

It’s annoying, but I have to try and identity a flare as early on as possible to be able to attempt to get on top of it.

Yes I have these. It seems like every symptom / group of symptoms I have can have flares, even if it isn’t ‘normal’ to have flares for these things.

Ive definitely started having more issues with all my bones and joints sliding around more than usual. I’m not sure how that works as a flare but I’ve definitely experienced it too 😭

I'm also in a dislocation flare up and it's driving me mad! I never understand what the trigger is either 🤷🏼‍♀️

      I don’t know if it’s a real thing, but I’m in a dislocation flare-up at the moment too. I don’t know which is worse…
