So I've been told that depression can make you irritable easily, or make you change moods really fast. However, something feels really off about that. Specifically with me. Should I get checked for something?

I get that way too! I always feel bad because I swear I’m not an angry person but then something like that happens and I’m not sure anymore. You sound like you have more self control than me so kudos. It’s honestly painful for me. I wish I had advice but the best I can give you is you’re not alone

I end up snapping on people and losing friendships, on of the hardest parts of depression in my opinion. Definitely get screened! Sending all love!

The same thing happens to me! It makes me feel like a bad person tbh. Its honestly comforting to hear other people with my condition do the same thing, since everyone around me seems to be able to deal with anger so easily, and i cant. I dont have advice unfortunately, but i wanted to add again that youre not alone

I don’t like being angry either. Definitely makes me feel like the bad guy. But yes! Lmao

I appreciate it regardless. It's tough for me because I don't like to be angry. It's not a fun feeling, ya know? But man, sometimes it feels like my brain has an absolute vendetta against the sound of someone breathing lmao

I don't know... Sometimes when I'm off my medication, I feel like I'm constantly in sensory overload. Bowls clinking again a table, someone coughing, etc have been things that have made have to legitimately physically restrain myself from yelling or getting physical. I'll go from just zoning out to "everyone in this room needs to go away right now" within seconds and it's absolutely wacky.

I feel like my mood swings are mostly from emotional dysregulation with my ADHD. I have heard that about depression too which I’m sure doesn’t help me. Do you feel like there’s something else going on cause your mood?
