Does any other person that suffers from cyclic vomiting syndrome have to deal with family telling other people it's not real? Do doctors misdiagnose you with cannabinoid hyperemesis?

I've been misdiagnosed with cannabinoid hyperemesis, but my vomiting started before I got my medical card. I've been misdiagnosed with a bunch of different things.

Try amitriptyline for your stomach problems. I have had stomach problems since 2016. I couldn't find an answer anywhere as to why I kept getting sick. My doctor prescribed the amitriptyline 50 mg and within 24 to 48 hours my stomach problems almost went away completely. This is a depression medication but also works for stomach problems. I hope this helps somebody. I hate to think someone's going through the same thing I went through I wouldn't wish that upon anyone.

all the time even when i puked on them. I did over the years find out my CPTSD affected this and after doing some work on that my gut problems started going away. they still flair up under a lot of stress and certain foods but ive avoided the hospital for it since 2015

I've had a diagnosis of a ton of stomach problems and recently they are saying it could be cvs but since they found out I smoke they assume it is from that and I find myself having to validate my smoking because they haven't helped me with my pain, so I understand where you are at

100% about loved ones telling you “it’s fine.” And a lot of doctors say things like “it’s all in your head”. I am 5’5” and was so sick I was down to 78lbs. Clearly that’s not healthy so I wasn’t fine. So yes, I was invalidated A LOT. You just have to find the right doctors that genuinely care and loved ones that believe you are sick and support you through it. Not an easy process with the doctors, but I am hopeful that if you keep searching for an understanding one, you’ll find one. It was a long process for me, but once you find a good doctor to help, it makes everything better. So keep your chin up and keep looking!
