How do you all feel about Christmas? Happy and joyous? Or does it get you down? I always struggle this time of year.

I've had problems with Christmas in the past, but this year, even though we don even have a tree, the company is making this year wonderful!

I feel a little sad as this is the first Chirstmas without my Dad. It's a new feelings and hard to get used to but really missing Dad.

@SerenaS this first year without a parent will be some of the hardest you will have. I lost my mom in 2019. That first year was really hard, and some days I can't believe she's gone and that I can't tell her things or ask her things, and that's still hard, so I get where you are coming from.

My wife and I just do our own thing. That way we don't have to worry about anyone else and their opinions.
I used to love Christmas, but there's so much emphasis on it being a family thing. I'm on my own, no friends or family to speak of. Life's lonely but this time of year is so hard.
@DaisyMayhem I used to struggle being alone for the holidays, but then I decided to start making my own traditions and have fun with it. Go see a movie you've been wanting to see, stay in you pj's all day and eat junk food watching corny movies at home, etc. Have fun with it.
This year is going horribly. Insurance stopped covering a medication necessary for me and my family had to spend $400 to get it for me, my computer stopped working and then we bought another one, which turned out to barely work for anything (can't be refunded because we've had it more than 30 days), then my ceiling fan broke and then the bathroom fan broke. My sister that treats us horribly also moved back home, she brought a cat that's trying to destroy my plants and keeps terrorizing my guinea pigs (sister won't do anything to train her cat). That's not even all of it
I struggle around this time of year too. I just tell myself positive affirmations, and do my best to change my negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Hang in there. It will get better ❤️
Tbh I can't remember a time when Christmas wasn't a bummer or draining thanks to arguing family. But I'm trying my best to stay afloat, best wishes to you 💕
Struggling this year! My brother is causing some issues and I have had to cancel plans to see my family because of it. It has made me angry after all the help I have provided to him. I feel like a prisoner in my own home until he moves out. Caught him making a drug deal and he proceeded to bold face lie to me to my face, even looking into my eyes! We went and got him after his amputation of his leg for an infection. He has lived with us for 4 years now and he knows that I do not allow drugs in my home. He knew the consequences before hand. He has been on drugs before and has been clean until recently. I even helped him when he almost went septic because of his kidney stones, they had to do a direct line to his heart to provide antibiotics to him, in which I gave him his antibiotics through and IV. I am so hurt and angry!
