Been on it for a few years but recently upped the dose to 75mg a day at night. The only severe side effect I'm getting is sun sensitivity. To the point where I will get sunburned in the car, even with tinted windows. Any direct sunlight makes me burn. I didn't get this side effect until reaching 50mg but it got really bad when it was upped to 75mg. Unfortunately the maximum dose is what I need to keep my migraines away (haven't had one in months. Not even hormonal migraines from my menstrual cycle.) So definitely keep in mind that the sun sensitivity side effect could get worse the higher the dose is.

I take 25 mg of this medication for optical neuralgia. Haven't really noticed any major size effects other than my heart rate stays elevated a lot higher than it used to. My cardiologist said my heart is healthy so I am only speculating that it could be coming from the medicine. Dunno though. I take mine at night per my neurologist. She said it would help with me sleeping but it really hasn't.

I also take it at night, with Gabapentin and Lamotrigine (for seizures) as long as I take within an hour before I want to sleep these all work well for deep sleep for me. I have a very hard time not feeling tired during the day so I don't wouldn't change any of it now.
I took it two days so far. at night. I woke from nightmares the second night with rapid heartbeat… both nights trouble staying asleep… Thanks for the responses.
I’ve been on 50mg for 4 years now as a migraine preventative and I haven’t noticed any side effects

@Wanderinglumos 👍
I take it at night to help me sleep
None for me. Instructions say take before bed, bc of drowsiness I believe, but I take in morning and it hasn't made me sleepy.
@Lancelot why have you chosen to take it in the morning? I’m considering that as well..
@Foxhead I get anxious about taking new medications at night in case they have side effects that I don't notice coming on until they wake me up and take me by surprise, namely, nausea. And in this case I just never moved it to night because i already had a bunch I was taking in morning with food and had no issues with drowsiness.
